We evaluated 12 session replay tools, including ours, against the same criteria using each vendor's own website, docs, and pricing, and we say where each competitor is the better pick.

Contents

Summary

  • LogRocket is the top choice for AI that watches every session & tells you what's impacting users, across web and native mobile. LogRocket Galileo explains why each issue happened and pairs every finding with the full context to fix it, making it suitable for your whole team, from developers to product, design, and marketing
  • PostHog is the choice for dev teams that want all their tools from one vendor: analytics, observability, session replay, feature flags, experimentation, error tracking, logging, tracing, a data warehouse, support, and more, priced by usage, product by product
  • Quantum Metric suits large enterprises that want a quote-based annual contract with vendor-led implementation and professional services
  • Contentsquare (with Hotjar) is for teams focused on heatmaps & form analysis. Replays are sampled (5% on Free, 15% on Growth) unless you buy a custom Pro or Enterprise plan
  • Microsoft Clarity is the best free option for replays and heatmaps, with up to 100,000 recorded sessions per project per day
  • Sentry suits engineering teams that want replay inside their error monitoring. By default, it records 10% of sessions and every session with an error

What is session replay software? What changed in 2026?

Session replay software records what users see and do on a website or app so teams can play back a visit and see where it went wrong. It doesn't record video. It captures changes to the page (the DOM) and event data, like clicks, scrolls, taps, form inputs, and page changes, then rebuilds the visit from that data. A replay shows those interactions alongside errors and network calls in the order they happened.

In 2026, most teams don't have time to watch more than a few session replays. As a result, many find they don't get as much value as they'd like out of their current tool. To solve this, many vendors are adding AI. But the quality of these solutions varies widely. Five things separate strong AI session replay tools from the rest:

  • What the AI does: Some AI only summarizes a replay you already picked. The strongest tools proactively surface issues you didn't know about and synthesize insights you can trust, with the sessions behind each one as proof
  • One session vs. many: A tool that writes an AI summary of each recording saves you a few minutes per replay, but someone still has to pick the sessions and connect the dots. The strongest tools reason across many sessions at once and surface patterns with example sessions as proof
  • What the AI can see: AI is only as good as the data captured. Behavioral data, like a rage click, shows frustration. Technical data, like the failed request behind it, shows you why and what to fix
  • What other data it uses: An AI that reads one session at a time sees one user. An AI that finds patterns across sessions sees the trend. The most useful AI connects those patterns to context from other sources, like support tickets, Jira and Linear tickets, and user feedback
  • How well it investigates: Simple issues have one cause. Complex ones span several pages, releases, devices, or services. Strong tools follow the evidence across sessions and data sources until they find the cause, instead of stopping at the first symptom

Good tools also keep sensitive fields from leaving the device. It's worth knowing which privacy settings are default-on and which ones need to be configured manually.

How we ranked these tools

We evaluated 12 tools on 20 criteria in five groups, weighted in order:

Group Criterion What the best tools do
AI AI watches sessions for you Review every session unprompted, group and rank issues by impact, explain why, link the sessions
Ask anything, answered across sessions Answer across many sessions and tickets, with the sessions behind each answer, in the app, Slack, Teams, and MCP
Agent access via MCP Let your agents have the vendor's AI watch sessions, work issues, and hand fixes to a coding agent
AI you can trust Cite sessions, validate impact before alerting, learn from triage, publish an accuracy method
Reads beyond replays Combine replays with tickets, calls, reviews, surveys, and releases
Replay and data Capture depth Every session, with console, network bodies, app state, and source-mapped stack traces
Replay fidelity Accurate replay of single-page apps, iframes, Shadow DOM, WebViews, and mobile
Frontend performance and errors Web Vitals, long tasks, CPU, memory, network timing, and errors tied to the session
Search and filtering Find any session by event, request, error, trait, page, or device
Web and native mobile iOS, Android, React Native, and Flutter at parity with web
Product analytics without tagging Autocapture, with funnels and paths that open the sessions behind them
UX and business impact Experience analytics Heatmaps, zones, frustration signals, form analytics, page comparison, and surveys
Ties issues to business impact A revenue or conversion figure per issue, method documented, sessions linked
Fit across teams Usable across your teams Features for engineering, product, UX, ecommerce, support, and growth
Ease of adoption Self-serve, installs in minutes, no services or analyst needed
One product, one price Replay, analytics, errors, performance, and AI in one product
Buying constraints AI data governance No training on your data, AI under the BAA, subprocessors disclosed
Cost predictability Published prices, a free tier, alerts before limits, ways to add capacity
Data export and ownership Warehouse export, full API, retention options, documented deletion
Privacy controls Inputs masked by default, and anything excluded before it leaves the browser

Why this order? Stronger AI capabilities save you time to insight and resolution. The AI is only as good as what it can see, so replay and data quality comes next. Then come experience and business impact, fit across teams, and buying constraints.

A few notes on our ranking and research process:

  • We evaluated each tool based on:
    • The plan that includes its AI features
    • What customers can use today (limited release features get partial credit)
  • Every fact comes from each vendor's own public sources, last checked October 2026
  • AI that summarizes one session at a time or answers from metrics without reading sessions counts as analytics AI
  • Slow pages and errors hit conversion, activation, and retention, so frontend performance counts for every team, not only engineering
  • A single figure is easy to over-read. We gave the most credit to tools that show severity several ways at once: users affected, conversion impact, estimated revenue, and the sessions behind it

The 12 best session replay tools in 2026

1. LogRocket: Best for AI that watches every session & tells you what's impacting users.

LogRocket is the AI-first session replay and analytics platform where LogRocket Galileo AI watches every session, surfaces the issues hurting users, and ranks them by impact. Product, design, support, and engineering teams can then see exactly what users experienced and act on problems immediately with full context.

Strengths:

  • LogRocket Galileo narrows thousands of signals to the few issues that matter, writes each in plain language a merchandiser or support lead can act on, and brings them to you in the app, Slack, or Teams
  • Ask Galileo answers questions with the sessions behind every answer. AI agents get the same through MCP
  • LogRocket Galileo can send an issue to a Cursor or Claude cloud agent that opens a pull request
  • Ask LogRocket Galileo, in the app or through MCP, to prioritize issues by the revenue they cost and estimate how much was lost, using a revenue event or your average cart value. Funnels also show each issue's conversion impact and Revenue Opportunity, so one dollar estimate never decides it alone
  • Every session within your plan is recorded, with no sampling (unless you use Conditional Recording), with console logs, network requests and responses, and Redux state
  • Session replay, autocaptured analytics, heatmaps, error and performance monitoring, and LogRocket Galileo come in one product on web and iOS, Android, React Native, and Flutter

Limitations:

  • For masking, by default, LogRocket records all text and inputs except password fields, which are never recorded. One SDK setting masks every input (or all text), and specific elements can be masked or unmasked individually
  • Some LogRocket Galileo AI features are available only on Pro and Enterprise, not Core
  • LogRocket has no in-app guides or onboarding flows, so teams that rely on Pendo or Appcues guides keep that tool

Admin and security:

  • Role-based access control and audit logging come with Pro
  • SSO is on every plan
  • LogRocket is SOC 2 Type II audited
  • Masking runs in the browser, so masked data never reaches LogRocket's servers. Masking rules live in your code, so they're reviewed, versioned, and can't be loosened from a dashboard
  • Enterprise adds unlimited seats
  • Self-hosting is available as a deployment option. As with PostHog and OpenReplay, the AI features don't run on the self-hosted version
  • Uses its own recorder

Price:

  • Free for 1,000 sessions a month
  • 14-day free trial of every feature, no credit card required
  • Core starts at $83/month for 10,000 sessions, billed annually
  • Pro (including all LogRocket Galileo features) starts at about $292/month for 10,000 sessions, billed annually
  • See pricing for Enterprise

For ecommerce teams: LogRocket Galileo surfaces the issues keeping shoppers from converting in near real time, long before an A/B test reaches statistical significance and before enough customers complain for Support to escalate the issue. Shopify Plus stores install LogRocket from the Shopify App Store with an app embed, and retailers with native apps use the same platform for web, iOS, and Android.

For SaaS engineering teams: LogRocket covers the frontend, with errors, performance, and the full session (console logs, network requests and responses, Redux state). Teams that need backend error alerting can keep Sentry for it, with the LogRocket session linked from every Sentry issue in React and React Native.

For SaaS product teams: Funnels and paths work without tagging events, and LogRocket Galileo summarizes where users struggle, so nobody has to watch hours of recordings.

Choose LogRocket if you want answers to come to you, not another dashboard to check. LogRocket Galileo watches every session and alerts you when something is hurting conversion, engagement, or adoption. It takes no setup of dashboards or queries to run. And when you have a question, even a broad one, just ask. Ask Galileo finds the issues, sessions, and context behind the answer. When it's time to act, LogRocket Galileo can send an issue straight to a coding agent that opens a pull request with the fix.

2. PostHog: Best for dev teams that want all their tools from one vendor.

PostHog is an open source platform for dev teams that want all their tools from one vendor: analytics, observability, session replay, feature flags, experimentation, error tracking, logging, tracing, a data warehouse, support, and more. Each product is billed by usage. It fits best when you use most of the suite.

Strengths:

  • Many products run on one SDK, with MCP on every plan
  • Self-driving agent opens a pull request, and a validation pass checks after release that "the fix actually held" (open beta)

Limitations:

  • Its AI reads sessions through scanners you set up. Each scanner is billed per session
  • AI features are not covered by BAAs
  • PostHog AI runs only on PostHog Cloud, not self-hosted
  • Without AI review, PostHog costs less than LogRocket Pro at 50,000 to 100,000 sessions a month. (Having its AI review every session, which LogRocket Galileo does on Pro, costs two to seven times as much, per scanner)

Admin and security:

  • SSO enforcement on Boost ($250/month), SAML on Scale ($750/month), and role-based access on Enterprise
  • Its recorder is built on rrweb

Price: The first 5,000 recordings are free each month, then from $0.005 per recording.

Choose PostHog if your dev team wants all its tools from one vendor (analytics, replay, flags, experiments, error tracking, logs, and a warehouse) and is happy to configure what the AI looks for. If you'd use only one or two of its products, it's a weaker fit.

3. Quantum Metric: Best for enterprises that want vendor-led implementation and services.

Quantum Metric is an enterprise digital analytics platform for web and native apps, with Felix AI agents that monitor KPIs.

Strengths:

  • Every agreement includes Implementation, account setup, and PII remediation
  • Felix agents find the root cause and size revenue impact
  • Opportunities "stack ranks issues by real time revenue impact"
  • Heatmaps and journeys run without requiring manual tagging

Limitations:

  • Pricing is quote-only
  • Setup is services-led. Pricing depends on "the amount of professional services you're looking for," and teams often rely on those services or a dedicated in-house expert to configure it and get value from it
  • Its MCP is a beta in private customer partnerships, and "some AI features are consumption limited"

Admin and security:

  • SSO (OpenID and SAML 2.0)
  • Team-based roles
  • Privacy audit log of every decryption
  • Per-customer Google Cloud project

Price: Quote-based. The only public figure is its Shopify App Store listing at $50,000 a year.

Choose Quantum Metric if you want a vendor to implement and run the program with you, and if the annual contract you're quoted fits how you buy.

4. Contentsquare (with Hotjar): Best for teams focused on heatmaps & form analysis.

Contentsquare is an experience analytics platform with heatmaps, zones, journeys, and replay. New Hotjar accounts now sign up for free on Contentsquare.

Strengths:

  • Experience analytics built for heatmap and form work: heatmaps, zoning, Frustration Score, Form Analysis, Page Comparator, and surveys
  • Error Analysis ranks errors by missed revenue with published formulas
  • Sense Analyst sends scheduled insights (Pro add-on))

Limitations:

  • Replays are sampled, 5% on Free and 15% on Growth, unless you buy a custom Pro or Enterprise plan
  • Its AI works over analytics and doesn't link answers to specific replays
  • Experience Analytics, Product Analytics (Heap), and Voice of Customer are priced separately, and Heap keeps its own app and signup

Admin and security: SAML SSO on Pro and Enterprise, with "Adv. Security & Administration" on Enterprise.

Price: Free for 200,000 sessions a month, with replay at 5% (up to 10,000). Growth starts at $39/month billed annually or $49/month billed monthly.

Choose Contentsquare if heatmaps, zones, and form analytics decide the purchase, and sampled replays are acceptable on the plan you can afford.

5. Amplitude Session Replay: Best if you already run Amplitude analytics.

Amplitude Session Replay adds replays to Amplitude's product analytics.

Strengths:

  • Replay inside a full analytics platform, with unlimited seats and click and scroll maps
  • Session Replay Agent reports how many sessions a finding affects

Limitations:

  • Replay "records nothing" until a developer sets a sample rate, and capture stops at the monthly replay quota
  • The agent "samples replays within a funnel or event you choose" and "never surfaces raw session IDs"
  • Autocapture "collects a predefined set of events," so deeper analysis runs on a tracked event plan
  • There is no error-monitoring product

Admin and security:

  • SAML SSO on Growth and Enterprise
  • Custom roles on Enterprise
  • BAA covers its AI features
  • Recorder built on rrweb

Price:

  • Free includes 2 million events and 10,000 replays a month
  • Growth and Enterprise are custom

Choose Amplitude Session Replay if your product team already lives in Amplitude and wants replays next to its charts. LogRocket also integrates with Amplitude: it sends each session link to Amplitude as an event, so you can open the replay from that user's event stream.

6. Noibu: Best for ecommerce checkout error monitoring.

Noibu is an ecommerce monitoring tool that watches every store session for errors, slowdowns, and friction and estimates the revenue each issue costs.

Strengths:

  • Watches every store session
  • Puts a revenue-loss figure on each issue

Limitations:

  • The revenue estimate uses the conversion drop "correlated with the issue" and "the average cart value," projected to a year, and Noibu notes it "may falsely correlate these issues with revenue loss"
  • Pull requests come from your own Claude, Copilot, or Codex with GitHub connected. GitHub "is also the only route by which a fix can be written and opened as a pull request"
  • It's built for storefronts only

Admin and security:

  • OAuth SSO
  • Two roles
  • ISO 27001 and SOC 2
  • Hosted in the US

Price: Quote-based, with no public pricing page.

Choose Noibu if you run a storefront, want every issue priced in dollars from day one, and don't need product analytics.

7. Fullstory: Best for web autocapture on a large free tier.

Fullstory is a digital experience platform built on autocapture, with replay, heatmaps, and behavioral search.

Strengths:

  • Deep autocapture analytics and heatmaps
  • Conversions sizes lost revenue per signal with a published method
  • Clear privacy documentation, with modes such as Private by Default

Limitations:

  • Opportunities detects "anomalous friction or error events," and its session-reading AI agents are in early access
  • Ask StoryAI reads "a summary of the latest 10 sessions," and its developer docs call MCP "part of our Early Access program"
  • Request and response bodies need an allowlist
  • StoryAI and mobile are paid add-ons
  • There is no error-tracking product

Admin and security:

  • SSO
  • SCIM on Enterprise
  • Five roles
  • Audit log
  • EU data center

Price:

  • Free includes 30,000 sessions a month
  • Business, Advanced, and Enterprise are quote-only

Choose Fullstory if you want to search web behavior without tagging, prefer conservative privacy defaults, and can start on the free tier.

8. Datadog RUM and Session Replay: Best if you already run Datadog for observability.

Datadog is a cloud-based observability and security platform built for IT and DevOps teams. It offers session replay in layers: RUM and Session Replay. Real User Monitoring (RUM) is a separately priced product on Datadog's observability platform that tracks frontend performance and errors for real users. Session Replay is an add-on to RUM that lets you actually watch user sessions for faster issue resolution and general product experience improvements.

Strengths:

  • Replay sessions next to APM traces and logs
  • Bits Code turns an error into a pull request and reopens it as a regression if it returns
  • Strong frontend performance data

Limitations:

  • Session Replay is an add-on to RUM, product analytics is a separate product, and AI runs on credits, so matching this list takes several products
  • The replay AI summarizes one session at a time
  • The replay sample rate "defaults to 0," so no session is replayed until you set one

Admin and security:

  • SAML SSO
  • SCIM
  • Custom roles
  • Audit Trail
  • US, EU, AP, and Gov sites
  • Recorder uses rrweb

Price: Session Replay is $2.50 per 1,000 sessions a month on top of RUM Measure ($0.15/1,000 sessions/month) or RUM Investigate ($3/1,000 sessions/month), billed annually. No free tier.

Choose Datadog RUM and Session Replay if Datadog already holds your APM and logs, and you want replay on the same bill. LogRocket also integrates with Datadog: a network request in a LogRocket replay links to the related Datadog APM traces, and Datadog logs can appear inside the session. Because LogRocket records every session within your plan (unless you use Conditional Recording), you don't set a replay sample rate first.

9. OpenReplay: Best open source option to self-host.

OpenReplay is an open source session replay tool you can run on your own infrastructure or buy as a managed instance.

Strengths:

  • Self-host it for free and keep data in your environment
  • Processes 100% of user sessions, with console logs and app state through plugins
  • Autocapture analytics include funnels, journeys, and heatmaps linked to replays

Limitations:

  • Summary AI covers one session at a time
  • Its AI features are cloud only for now, not on self-hosted
  • Request and response bodies are off by default

Admin and security:

  • SAML
  • SCIM
  • Roles
  • Audit trail on Enterprise

Price:

  • Self-Hosted Open-Source is free
  • Dedicated (fully managed) starts at $199/month

Choose OpenReplay if you must self-host and have engineers to run it.

10. Sentry Session Replay: Best for teams that want replay inside their error monitoring.

Sentry Session Replay links each error to a playback of the user's session, which shows what went wrong and what the user did right before.

Strengths:

  • Errors, traces, and replay in one issue view, on web and mobile
  • Masks all text, inputs, and media by default
  • Seer Autofix opens pull requests and flags regressions

Limitations:

  • Replay is sampled by default: 10% of sessions plus every session with an error
  • Network request and response bodies are captured only for URLs you allow
  • AI Summary is per a single user session
  • Seer costs $40 per active contributor a month
  • No product analytics

Admin and security:

  • SAML SSO and SCIM on Business and Enterprise
  • Audit logs on Business
  • Recorder built on rrweb

Price:

  • Developer is free with 50 replays a month
  • Team is $26 a month, billed annually
  • Business is $80 a month, billed annually
  • Extra replays start at $0.0030 each

Choose Sentry Session Replay if your engineers live in Sentry and need replay for the sessions that threw an error. If you want the full session behind every error, keep Sentry for alerts and add LogRocket's Sentry integration, which puts a LogRocket session link on every Sentry exception report. LogRocket records every session within your plan, so the session is there even when Sentry's replay sample skipped it.

11. Glassbox: Best for regulated industries that need on-premises deployment.

Glassbox is a digital experience analytics platform for web and mobile apps, sold by package.

Strengths:

  • Deploys on-premises, single tenant, or multi-tenant cloud
  • Masks by default
  • Lists compliance with HIPAA, GLBA, PCI, CCPA and GDPR

Limitations:

  • 100% session replay only available for Production Operation package, with Marketing/Business and Product packages offering 10%. See package table
  • Onboarding runs through a customer success manager
  • MCP server and Pulse AI are announced without availability

Admin and security:

  • Role-based access with a complete audit log
  • SAML SSO
  • On-premises and single-tenant options

Price: Quote-based. Package, data retention, and session volume set the price.

Choose Glassbox if your compliance review requires on-premises deployment.

12. Microsoft Clarity: Best free option.

Microsoft Clarity is a free session replay and heatmap tool from Microsoft for websites and mobile apps.

Strengths:

  • “Free forever”
  • Up to 100,000 recorded sessions per project per day
  • Masking on by default
  • Copilot summaries

Limitations:

  • Captures no network data or app state
  • Has no fix workflow, so engineering teams must pair it with another tool
  • Copilot Chat answers from dashboard data only
  • Agent access through its API is capped at 10 requests per project per day

Admin and security: Two roles and no company SSO.

Price: Free, with no paid tier.

Choose Microsoft Clarity if you have no budget and want replays and heatmaps today.

Best session replay tool by use case

LogRocket excels if you need AI that watches every session & tells you what's impacting users, or if you need web and native mobile apps in one tool. But the “right” session replay tool depends on who opens the tool every day.

For engineering teams

  • If you run Sentry and can't reproduce frontend errors, keep Sentry for alerts and add LogRocket for the session: state, network requests and responses, and the replay linked from every Sentry issue. If you only need replay on the sessions that threw an error, turn on Sentry Session Replay.
  • If customers say the app is slow but your APIs look fine, use a tool that ties frontend performance to the session. LogRocket records page load, CPU, long tasks, memory, and network speed in every session, and supports INP alongside every session.
  • If you want an AI agent to open the pull request for an issue, LogRocket, PostHog, Datadog RUM, and Sentry provide that capability.
  • If Datadog already holds your APM and logs, Datadog RUM keeps replay on one bill.
  • If you must self-host, LogRocket, PostHog, and OpenReplay all offer self-hosting as a deployment option. In all three, the AI features don't run on the self-hosted version.

For product teams

  • If your users spend an hour at a time in your app and nobody can watch those recordings, LogRocket Galileo summarizes where users struggle and links to the moment it happened.
  • If you need to see where trial users drop off without tagging every event, use a tool that autocaptures events and records sessions together: LogRocket, Fullstory, PostHog, or Amplitude.
  • If your product team runs Amplitude or Mixpanel, keep it for analytics and add LogRocket for why users struggle. If you're on Pendo, keep Pendo for in-app guides.

For ecommerce and digital teams

  • If you want checkout error alerts or issues ranked by estimated revenue impact, LogRocket, Noibu, Quantum Metric, and Contentsquare all offer this in slightly different ways. If you want to evaluate Noibu, check their stated caveats first. LogRocket, Noibu, Contentsquare, and Fullstory also have Shopify apps that record replays inside Shopify Checkout (Shopify allows session replay in Shopify Checkout only on Shopify Plus, so this applies to every tool).
  • If you run a Shopify Plus store with no analyst and need to know what broke after a theme or app change, LogRocket installs with an app embed, and LogRocket Galileo ranks what broke.
  • If you're an enterprise retailer whose leadership wants AI that finds revenue leaks, shortlist LogRocket and Quantum Metric. Pick Quantum Metric for a services-led contract, and LogRocket for root cause and native apps in one tool.
  • If your team is focused on heatmaps & form analysis, use Contentsquare.

For support and customer experience teams

  • If support spends days asking customers for screenshots, use a tool that links the session to the ticket. LogRocket attaches the session to Zendesk and Intercom tickets, and LogRocket Galileo writes each issue in plain language a support agent can escalate.

For marketing and growth teams

  • If you were on Hotjar (now part of Contentsquare), compare its sampled replays with tools that record every session.
  • If you have no budget to spare on another paid tool, use Microsoft Clarity.
  • If you're in a regulated industry with a strict compliance review, look at Glassbox.

What session replay costs in 2026

Most session replay tools price by sessions captured. Some sample, some stop at a monthly quota, and enterprise tools quote annual contracts.

On LogRocket, pricing scales with sessions (web and mobile) captured. Analytics, error, and log events are unlimited on every plan, and an hour-long session counts as one session. Conditional Recording is a paid add-on for plans above 100,000 sessions a month. LogRocket will alert you before you reach your plan's monthly session quota, giving you the option to add sessions or turn on overage for the rest of the month. Seasonal businesses can buy an annual session quota instead of going month-to-month.

Some tools sell replay, analytics, error monitoring, and AI separately. Datadog prices Session Replay as an add-on to RUM, PostHog bills each product by usage, and Contentsquare sells its products separately. LogRocket includes replay, analytics, heatmaps, error and performance monitoring, and LogRocket Galileo in one product.

Error monitoring tools price replay as an add-on and sample by default. On LogRocket Pro, 100,000 sessions a month is $717 a month, billed annually.

Tool Free tier Entry paid price How price scales
LogRocket 1,000 sessions/mo, web and mobile Core $83/mo for 10,000 sessions. Pro about $292/mo for 10,000 sessions (annual) Sessions captured. Analytics, error, and log events unlimited
PostHog 5,000 recordings/mo From $0.005 per recording Per recording, per product
Quantum Metric None Quote. Shopify listing $50,000/yr Contract
Contentsquare 200,000 sessions/mo (replay 5%) Growth from $39/mo (annual) Sessions. Replay share rises by plan
Amplitude 2M events and 10,000 replays/mo Growth custom Events. Replay quota by plan
Noibu None Quote Contract
Fullstory 30,000 sessions/mo Quote Sessions. Mobile and StoryAI add-ons
Datadog RUM None (14-day trial) Session Replay $2.50 per 1,000 sessions plus RUM Per 1,000 sessions, by product
OpenReplay Self-hosted, free Dedicated from $199/mo Instance or usage
Sentry 50 replays/mo Team $26/mo (annual) Per replay above the plan
Glassbox None Quote Package, retention, session volume
Microsoft Clarity Free, no paid tier

Prices are as of October 2026, from each vendor's pricing page.

How to choose a session replay tool

  1. Name the job: Find bugs, find conversion problems, or both
  2. Determine likely users: Merchandising, product, engineering, support
  3. Check capture and privacy: Every session or a sample? (On a 5% sample, a bug that hits 3,000 sessions a month shows up in about 150.) What's masked by default?
  4. Check your stack: Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, native and React Native apps, Sentry or Datadog, your analytics tool, Zendesk, and Slack
  5. Test: Use your own production traffic for two weeks. Count the issues each tool finds for you, then send one to its coding agent and see what comes back

If a vendor quotes revenue per issue, ask whether it comes from tracked purchases or a model, and whether bot traffic is excluded.

What teams see with LogRocket

  • Speedway Motors increased conversion 32% with LogRocket.
  • 7-Eleven cut average issue rates on its new POS systems to 0.5% and reduced time to resolution from days to hours.
  • thredUP improved LCP by 64% after using LogRocket to find what slowed pages down.
